Wallands School is beautifully situated, with panoramic views of the South Downs. The school grounds include large playing fields, one early years, one KS1 and two KS2 playgrounds, a climbing area, a wild area and an enclosed garden with a pond.
We cater for children from 3 to 11 years and currently have around 475 children on roll.
In addition to our classroom spaces we have an ICT suite, a Design Technology room, a teaching kitchen and a swimming pool. We offer before and after school care and a wide range of after school clubs co-ordinated by our specialist Extended Schools Co-ordinator.
We have been awarded the Gold Artsmark and International Schools status. We are a UNICEF Rights Respecting School and this underpins the ethos of our school. To find out more about Rights Respecting Schools look on the UNICEF web-site.
We all benefit from having our Language Unit on site. The Language Unit is a specialist facility supporting 16 children with statements for speech and language needs. The specialist staff from the Unit support us with our mainstream work. This close working relationship is mutually beneficial and was one of the reasons Wallands was awarded the ‘Primary School of the Year 2012’ for communication work by the Shine a Light Foundation.
